Cobalt Developments from Stratford-upon-Avon
is creating five new high-quality industrial and warehouse
units at South Park off Kineton Road. Tompkins Construction
started work on the 2.1 acre Cobalt Centre development on
Monday (March 29) with work scheduled to finish in September.
The units will range from 5,000 sq ft to 25,000 sq ft. The
development will total over 36,000 sq ft and the units will
be available for companies to buy freehold. Andrew Wall
from Wareing & Company, joint selling agents with Peter
Bromwich and Company, said the Cobalt Centre will fill a
gaping hole in the market and add further security for workers
in Southam.
“The units will satisfy a market demand from companies
in the area who want to buy new premises rather than rent,”
he said.
“Small or larger businesses wishing
to expand can stay in the area by moving to this development
instead of re-locating elsewhere, which thereby protects
local employment.”
The Mayor of Southam, Cllr Mike Stanley, added that the
development would ensure the economy in the town remained
buoyant.
“We have had considerable inward
investment in Southam in recent years but it is also vital
that we offer a home to local companies who are successful
and want to expand,” he said.
“This kind of commercial development
is key to Southam’s future prosperity and is good
news for workers who live and work in the area.”
Tom Bromwich, partner at Peter Bromwich and Company, added:
“We have already had a number of
enquiries from businesses in Southam as well as companies
interested in moving to Warwickshire."
“The development is ideally located
since it is close to Leamington Spa and Warwick, and the
M40 links to the big cities in the Midlands and the south
east are very close by.”
